So, I got the Half-Life collection for 10$. Basically had HL, HL2, HL2: Deathmatch, HL2: Ep1, HL2: Ep2, HL2: Lost Coast, HL Deathmatch: Source, Half-Life: Blue shift, Half-Life: Opposing Force, Half-Life: Source.
Started the first one. When those weird ass alien things jump out at you out of nowhere, I yelp and want to hide in the corner. Because I'm a loser scaredy-cat. But, anyways. Someone needs to explain to me why this game is so hyped and popular. Because I'm playing HL1, and it's pretty...average so far.

Yeah, the Half Life series is pretty overrated. All the plebs love it cause Big Daddy Gaben made it but it's pretty bawls.

It's decent. Don't listen to these plebs. I, personally, have only played the second one, including episode one and two, but I can say that it was good enough to play through to the end without feeling bored or disappointed.

Half life was the first narrative shooter game. It had a linear story line but it was all interconnected and flowed like a movie while still having basic competitive gameplay to keep the player interacted in the game. basically for most, it was all about immersion. now nostalgia is a very powerful thing which is why people like it so much cause they played it as a kid and is near and dear to ALOT of peoples hearts. now if you consider these games "generic" and you bought 10 games. that's a dollar a game. pretty goddamn cheap for a "generic overhyped" shooter.

they're better in the hl2, but it isn't the best game out there though as people say.
